Your Child’s Dance Journey Can Start Here

Thinking about dance classes for your child?

We’d love to welcome you to Babel School of Dance.

Whether your child is taking their very first steps into a dance studio, returning to dance after a break or looking for somewhere new to continue their training, we’re here to help you find the right class.

You don’t need to know which class or level to choose — that’s our job!

Tell us a little about your child and we’ll help you find the best place for them to begin.

Dance Classes at Hayes & Heston

Babel offers classes at our Hayes and Heston branches, with opportunities for children and young people of different ages and levels of experience.

Our classes include:

Ballet

Tap

Acro

Commercial Freestyle

and additional dance opportunities as students progress.

Ballet is available from 3 years old at both Hayes and Heston, and complete beginners are very welcome.

At our Heston branch, we also offer a combined Ballet & Tap class for children aged 6 and under.

Not every class is available at both locations, so please check our current timetable or ask us if you’re unsure.

Step One — Find a Class

Our Class Manager Hub allows you to view the classes currently available at Babel.

You can see the options available for your child and begin the process of joining us.

If you already know which class you’d like to try, that’s great.

If you don’t — please don’t worry.

Contact us and we’ll help.

A child’s age gives us a useful starting point, but we may also consider previous dance experience, confidence and current ability when recommending a class.

Step Two — Book a Trial

We think the best way to discover whether a class is right for your child is to come and experience it.

A trial gives your child the opportunity to:

Meet their teacher

See the studio

Meet some of the other dancers

Experience the class

and, most importantly…

see how they feel.

We know that walking into a new dance class can feel exciting for some children and a little daunting for others.

That’s completely normal.

Our teachers understand that every child is different and will do their best to help your child feel comfortable and welcome.

Step Three — Have a Chat With Us

Following the trial, we can talk to you about how your child got on.

Sometimes the class you’ve chosen will be exactly right.

Occasionally, we may feel that another class or level would suit your child better.

That isn’t a problem.

We want to find the class where your child can feel comfortable, enjoy themselves and make progress.

Step Four — Register With Babel

Happy with the class?

Wonderful!

You can complete your child’s registration through our Class Manager Hub.

We’ll need some important information about your child and your contact details so that we can administer their classes appropriately and keep you informed.

Please make sure the information you provide is accurate and let us know if anything changes.

Tell Us About Your Child

Every child is different.

When registering, please tell us about anything we reasonably need to know to help your child participate safely and positively in their classes.

If your child has particular learning, communication or support needs that you feel it would be helpful for their teacher to understand, please talk to us.

We want to work with you and your child to make their experience at Babel as positive as possible.

Information provided to us is handled in accordance with our privacy and data-protection procedures.

What Should My Child Wear for Their Trial?

Please don’t feel that you need to buy a complete dance uniform before your child has even tried their first class.

For most trial classes, comfortable clothing that allows your child to move safely is a good starting point.

Hair should be secured away from the face and jewellery that could present a safety risk should be removed.

If specific footwear or clothing is required for the class you’re trying, we’ll let you know.

Once your child has joined Babel, we’ll provide information about the appropriate class uniform.

Never Danced Before?

That’s absolutely fine.

Children don’t need previous dance experience to become part of Babel.

Everyone has a first dance class.

Some children start when they’re three.

Others discover dance much later.

What matters to us is finding an appropriate starting point and giving your child the opportunity to learn, develop confidence and enjoy dancing.

What Happens Once We’ve Joined?

Once your child is registered, you’ll have access to the information you need through our Class Manager system and Babel communications.

We’ll keep you informed about things such as:

Classes and timetable information

Fees and payments

Important dates

Examinations and assessments

Shows and performances

Workshops and additional opportunities

and all those other exciting things that come with being part of a dance school!

Please make sure your contact information is kept up to date so you don’t miss anything important.

Before You Register

Before completing registration, please take a few minutes to familiarise yourself with our:

Fees

Terms & Conditions

Privacy information

Relevant Babel policies

These explain how the school operates and help make sure that parents understand the arrangements before joining.

If anything isn’t clear, please ask.

We don’t expect parents joining a dance school for the first time to automatically know how everything works.
