Contemporary
Contemporary classes are held on Saturdays at Heston Methodist Church. Students aged 11 and older are welcome, regardless of prior training.
Those studying GCSE and A Level Dance at Babel also participate in this class to enhance their technical abilities and choreographic understanding.
This class is exceptional for developing core strength, flexibility, and stamina. It fosters a vital awareness of breath control while dancing and serves as a valuable addition to all dance genres, especially for ballet students.
Currently, we teach free work. Allowing dancers to explore the contributions of contemporary greats like Merce Cunningham, Martha Graham, and Isadora Duncan. This approach not only broadens their artistic horizons but also inspires them to infuse their personal style into their dance, creating a rich and diverse learning experience.
We offer school exams in contemporary dance, which are an integral part of the learning process. These exams mark each student’s progression and provide an opportunity for dancers to showcase their technical and performance skills, creativity, and knowledge.
