Contemporary classes are available on a Wednesday evening at Heston Methodist Church. Students from the age of 12 years are welcome, with or without prior training.

These classes are taken by Charis Ridley, a student at Babel since the age of 2 years, recently completing a BA in Dance Education.

Exams are not taken, these are recreational classes. Students who study GCSE Dance at Babel also take this class as part of their course to enhance their technical  skills and choreographic knowledge.

Various Contemporary styles are studied: Graham, Alston and Cunningham, to name a few.

This is an excellent class for building core strength, flexibility and stamina. It gives an essential awareness of the use of breath whilst dancing and is an excellent addition to all genres of dance, particularly for ballet students.
