We shall be performing at theTheatre Royal Windsor in November 2018.
The last week in July saw 42 children and students from as far away as Sydney Australia have a great week. The theme was The Greatest Showman. Routines and songs were learnt. A huge banner made in art and craft. A day trip to Covent Garden in London. On the last day, parents and friends came and watched the fruits of the week’s labour.
Jasmine Dotiwala, one of Sara’s very first students, a Producer at MTV, has her own Radio show and travels the world to interview the stars of music and screen has declared Sara Ridley (nee Halder) her favourite teacher!
Sara, I went to my tutorial for movement and my teacher was so impressed. She said she can see that my body has had an excellent training and that being able to move comes naturally and that I can apply everything I have learnt from being a dancer to having a free body in acting.
She said that although she never does this in the first year, she has given me a FIRST for movement!
I just want to say thank you for everything over the years because a lot this feedback is down to you and the time and patience you put in to me as a dancer, The skills I have learnt from you continue to serve me and I’m sure they will in the future. Lots of Love
Georgie Casbarra (Student 2003-17)
Sharon will be joining our Saturday team in September (2017). She already teachers on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. A student of Babel as a child, she went on to earn a degree at The Royal Academy of Dance in Ballet Education. She will be a welcome addition to our passionate and skilled teaching staff on a Saturday.
24 children and students travelled to Theatre Royal, Windsor to perform with Wandershow Productions in “Making Memories” and that is exactly what they did!
A great day out. They performed Celebration and Silencio with great passion and enthusiasm. Sara, with Vicky, Maria and Neha looked after the children, their only misgiving was the 4 flights of stairs to and from the stage! Their legs are not as young as they were, particularly Sara’s!
Melissa Dobson and Tavneet Matharu both celebrated their birthdays whilst at the theatre. Birthdays they will never forget. Thank you to Jasmine Kochhar who very kindly brought a chocolate cake along, which everyone enjoyed.
Sara described this as a warm-up to our main event “Dance in Time” to be performed on the 19th March 2017.
Congratulations Babel girls, you did yourselves and the school proud
Congratulations to Andrea Jennings and Lily Saunders on passing their GCSE Dance, both with B grade. We are very proud of you ladies. Thanks to Sam Laing and Sharon Payne for all their help and support for the girls.
I can’t believe this term is almost over. We have had a very good year, this last term particularly busy, with Bobby Dazzler’s at Her Majesty’s Theatre, London, Big Dance in Trafalgar Square and over 250 exam entries. We are ready for a rest. The last classes will be fun and exciting, offering opportunities for the children to try something new.
When we return in September, we will be straight into rehearsing for “Dance in Time”.
Myself and all the staff wish you all a wonderful summer break and look forward to seeing you all, raring to go in September.
Best wishes
Sara R
